Batumi Music Center

The Batumi Musical Center is one of the main cultural symbols of the city and the whole of Adjara, uniting under its roof an opera troupe, a symphony orchestra, a chapel, a ballet troupe and a youth musical theater.. The center is located in a modern building designed by architect Vakhtang Khmaladze. After a large-scale reconstruction in 2011, the building acquired Art Nouveau features: a light façade with high arches, a large number of glass elements and spectacular evening lighting make it look like a fairy-tale palace..

Inside the center is a luxurious 1,100-seat hall with Spanish chairs and a huge crystal chandelier, and on the third floor there is an exhibition space and a venue for jazz concerts.. Opera and ballet performances, symphony, folk and jazz concerts, musicals, festivals, exhibitions and state events take place here all year round.. Both local groups and world stars perform on stage, and the center’s creative groups regularly participate in international projects and festivals.
