A modern international airport situated on the right bank of the Chorokhi River, just 2 km south of central Batumi, the main transit hub of Georgia's Black Sea region.
Batumi Alexander Kartveli International Airport (BUS) is the main aerial gateway of Adjara and one of three international airports in Georgia. It is situated just 2 kilometers southwest of central Batumi and 20 kilometers northeast of the Turkish town of Hopa, making it a convenient arrival point for both tourists and locals. The airport began operation in 1965, and in 2007 it was completely reconstructed, receiving a modern terminal capable of handling growing passenger traffic.
Batumi Airport offers scheduled and charter flights to various destinations, connecting the region with major cities in Europe and the Middle East. Popular destinations include Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Minsk, and cities in Russia. During the summer season, the number of flights increases significantly due to seasonal routes.
For passengers' convenience, the airport provides all necessary services: duty-free shops, cafes and restaurants, currency exchange offices, ATMs, and Wi-Fi. The center of Batumi is easily reached by taxi, bus (for example, route No. 10), or rental car. Thanks to its location and modern amenities, Batumi International Airport plays a key role in developing the region's tourism and economy.
