Titsian Tabidze House-Museum

The Titsian Tabidze House-Museum is located in a historic residential building where the poet lived with his family. It was here that one of the most famous figures of 20th-century Georgian literature and a founder of the "Blue Horns" poetry group worked for many years. Today, the building looks rather modest and almost blends in among the surrounding structures, but its significance for Georgian culture can hardly be overstated.

Titsian Tabidze was one of the central figures of Georgian literary modernism. Together with like-minded contemporaries, he sought to unite European artistic currents with the Georgian poetic tradition. Poets, painters, and musicians frequently congregated at Tabidze's house, with guests including Boris Pasternak, Vladimir Mayakovsky, and Sergei Yesenin. A particularly vital role in the poet's life was played by his friendship with Pasternak, who contributed greatly to popularizing Georgian poetry abroad.

In 1937, Titsian Tabidze became a victim of Stalinist repressions and was executed. Following his death, his wife Nina Tabidze preserved the poet's apartment, manuscripts, books, photographs, and personal effects. Thanks to this, a memorial museum operates here today. The exhibition features authentic furniture, family photographs, documents, and Tabidze's personal belongings. Despite its historical value, the building itself is in need of restoration; however, the museum continues to welcome visitors and remains one of Tbilisi's most significant literary landmarks.
