Mural Dog Kupata

On one of the streets of Batumi, among the urban landscape, you can find a bright and touching mural that has become a real symbol of kindness and caring. This is a portrait of a dog named Kupata, created in 2020 by the talented Georgian graphic designer George Gamezardashvili, known as George Gamez. The masterfully executed drawing depicts a dog in a golden crown, proudly looking out from the wall of a residential building.

Behind this image is an amazing story of a real homeless dog who has won the hearts of not only Batumi residents, but people all over the world. Kupata became famous thanks to a viral video in which she selflessly helped a group of children from a kindergarten cross a busy intersection. Boldly running out onto the road and barking at cars, she stopped traffic, ensuring the safety of little pedestrians. This act earned her the status of a national hero and the love of the townspeople. In gratitude for her devotion, local authorities even gave her a doghouse with the inscription "Chosen by the People".

The mural with the crowned Kupata became a tribute to this extraordinary dog, the personification of her courage, loyalty and care for others. Although Kupata herself, unfortunately, is no longer here (she died in 2023 at the age of about 10), her story lives on in the hearts of people, and the mural remains one of the warmest and most inspiring sights of Batumi, a reminder of how little heroes can change the world for the better.
