Hotel and residential complex with a built-in Ferris wheel. The tallest building in the Caucasus!
The 200-meter skyscraper known as the Batumi Tower is the tallest building in the city and one of its most recognizable silhouettes. The most unique and eye-catching feature of the Batumi Tower is the miniature Ferris wheel with eight cabins built into its facade, located at a height of about 100 meters.
The tower was built in 2012 and was originally intended to be a combination university of technology and luxury 5-star hotel. However, the original plans to house a university never came to fruition, and for many years the majestic building stood virtually empty, becoming a sort of “ghost skyscraper.” The tower was even associated with the Trump brand for a time due to an initial licensing agreement, although it never materialized.
In recent years, the Batumi Tower has found a second wind. After the change of ownership, active reconstruction began with the goal of turning it into a luxurious hotel complex. Currently, it is planned to open a hotel here, as well as to place a casino. Despite its difficult history, the Batumi Tower remains an impressive architectural structure and an integral part of the modern appearance of the city.
