The snowiest and most scenic resort in Adjara, located at an altitude of 2000-2390 meters
Goderdzi Ski Resort is located 110 kilometers from Batumi, at the highest point of the mountain pass of the same name in the alpine zone of Adjara. Due to proximity to the sea, it is very humid and abundant snow falls here, making Goderdzi the resort with the deepest snow cover in all of Georgia. The ski season here usually lasts from mid-December to late April.
A two-stage cable car with a total length of 4 kilometers operates at the resort. The first stage is equipped with red 6-person cabins, convenient for placing skis. The second stage features a chairlift offering panoramic views from an altitude of 2400 meters above sea level. Ski equipment, snowboards, and sleds can be rented near the cable car. Beginner skiers can use the services of an instructor for 100–150 GEL per hour. The total length of the ski pistes is 8 kilometers, with plenty of terrain for off-piste skiing, which experienced skiers will appreciate. All slopes are marked blue, but beginners are advised to ski only on the first two kilometers. Lifts operate daily from 10:00 to 16:00, and on weekends until 17:00. A single ride costs 15 GEL, while an unlimited day pass costs 30 GEL.
The resort has restaurants serving Georgian cuisine made from fresh local ingredients. However, there are no grocery stores here, so it is best to bring everything necessary with you. At present, entertainment options are limited, making Goderdzi suitable for those seeking peaceful relaxation. More than 5 hotels and cottages where you can stay are located on the resort grounds. Prices range from 200 to 800 GEL. There are also guesthouses in the village of Danisparauli, 5 kilometers from the slopes; a night’s stay costs approximately 70–80 GEL, including meals.
You can reach Goderdzi by minibus or private car. Two direct minibuses depart daily from the Old Batumi Bus Station at 11:00 and 15:00; the trip takes 4 hours and costs 25 GEL. If traveling by car from Batumi, the first 85 kilometers are paved road, but the next 10 kilometers can be difficult due to potholes, streams, and snowdrifts, so an SUV is required. The entire trip takes about 3.5 hours. Local authorities plan to improve the road in the near future.
