Bronze bust of the great poet among the green alleys of Batumi Boulevard, recalling Pushkin's ties to the Caucasus.
The Monument to Alexander Pushkin is erected in one of the quiet sections of Batumi Boulevard among dense greenery and shaded alleys. The bronze bust of the poet is set on a high granite pedestal and crafted in a classical academic style. The sculpture harmoniously blends into the park setting, reminiscent of old city monuments at European resorts.
Although Pushkin himself never visited Batumi, his name is intimately associated with the Caucasus thanks to his celebrated work "A Journey to Arzrum" and other writings inspired by the region. The monument was erected here during the Soviet era, when such tributes were considered a vital aspect of civic cultural life. Literary evenings, school gatherings, and assemblies of creative intelligentsia were regularly organized beside the bust.
Over time, the bronze took on a subtle patina, giving the monument an even more expressive and antique look. The dark metal contrasts strikingly with the park's lush greenery, while the tranquil atmosphere in this part of the boulevard makes the spot especially pleasant for walks and leisure.
