Monument to Enver Khabadze

The Monument to Enver Khabadze is dedicated to the famous Georgian dancer, choreographer, and head of the State Song and Dance Ensemble of Adjara. The bronze figure is depicted in the motion of a national dance, as if the artist paused for just a second in the middle of a performance. The sculpture was installed among the alleys of Batumi Boulevard in 2023 for the 100th anniversary of the master's birth.

It was Enver Khabadze who made the Adjarian dance "Gandagana" famous far beyond the borders of Georgia. Under his leadership, the ensemble toured many countries, and Georgian folk dances received professional stage choreography and international recognition. Sculptor Giorgi Kikvadze deliberately captured the characteristic plastics of Georgian dance in bronze: precise hand movements, tense posture, and a sense of continuous motion.

The monument is installed without a high pedestal, so the figure feels like part of the park's living space. Walking around the sculpture gives the impression that the dancer is continuing his movement right amid the green alleys of the boulevard. In the evening, illumination accentuates the folds of his costume, making the composition even more dynamic.
