A green corner of Batumi Boulevard with exotic birds and the atmosphere of a genuine tropical garden.
The Peacock Pavilion is one of the most unusual spots on Old Batumi Boulevard. The spacious mesh aviary is nestled among shaded alleys near Egnate Ninoshvili Street and has long been a favorite stop for walks. Here you can see peacocks up close: the birds stroll unhurriedly around the pavilion, display huge fan-like tails, and fill the park with their loud calls.
The tradition of keeping exotic birds emerged in Batumi back in the late 19th century, as the town was transforming into a favored coastal resort. Seafarers and travelers brought rare creatures from distant lands, and peacocks soon became an emblem of southern exoticism. Their plumage appears particularly mesmerizing under sunlight, shimmering with blue and green hues thanks to the microscopic structure of their light-reflecting feathers.
The rustle of foliage, sea air, and vivid colors of peacock tails create an atmosphere of a small tropical garden right in the middle of the city. This spot remains one of the most picturesque points of Batumi Boulevard and is especially loved by children and photographers.
