Tea Party Sculpture

The sculpture "Me, You and Batumi", which locals often call the "tea party monument", appeared on Batumi Boulevard in 2012. The bronze composition portrays a man and a woman at a small table with coffee cups, alongside an empty chair set up for passersby. Located near the sea, the sculpture perfectly conveys the atmosphere of leisurely strolls and long conversations for which old Batumi has always been renowned.

The author of the composition was Georgian sculptor Irakli Tsuladze, who dedicated the work to the Batumi tradition of meeting over oriental coffee. In the city, coffee has long been considered not merely a drink, but part of daily life and social interaction. For this reason, the composition looks not like a classical monument, but like a scene from an ordinary evening on the boulevard. The empty chair nearby symbolizes Georgian hospitality and invites any passerby to become part of this conversation.

The sculpture quickly became one of the most popular photo spots on the boulevard. Tourists and locals often sit down next to the bronze figures with a real cup of coffee in hand, while in the evening, the warm glow of street lamps and the sound of the sea make this place especially cozy and atmospheric.
