Old Boulevard Dancing Fountains

The dancing fountains of the Old Boulevard are one of Batumi's most renowned evening attractions. The complex of three large basins was introduced here in 1977, becoming one of the very first musical light fountains in the Soviet Union. The fountains are set amidst palm trees and promenade avenues of the boulevard, while small footbridges between basins allow visitors to walk right up to the water jets.

With the arrival of dusk, a musical fountain show begins here: water jets surge to varying heights, change direction, and dance to the rhythm of the music. The entire performance is accompanied by vibrant illumination that dyes the water in multiple colors, creating the impression of a genuine open-air theater stage. During the 2007 reconstruction, the historic fountain basins were preserved while the pumping and lighting systems were completely overhauled.

On hot evenings, it is always crowded around the fountains: people relax on benches, take photos, and watch the show accompanied by the sound of water and music. Even during the daytime, this spot remains one of the most popular points of Old Boulevard thanks to the cool, greenery, and constant movement of water.
