One of the most picturesque and highest waterfalls in Adjara with a cave behind the water curtain.
Goderdzi Waterfall is one of the most picturesque natural attractions in highland Adjara, located in the village of Agota of the Keda Municipality, approximately 60 kilometers from Batumi. The height of the waterfall is about 30 meters, and its main feature is a spacious natural cave hidden behind the powerful water flow. Up to 10 people can be accommodated simultaneously in this cave, making the place especially interesting for adventure lovers and unusual photo shoots.
The route to the waterfall winds through scenic mountain landscapes: first along a good asphalt road to the village of Keda, then following signs onto a concrete road toward Goderdzi. The final stretch of the route crosses private property, so travelers should be courteous toward local residents. From the parking area to the waterfall itself, you need to walk about 500 meters along a trail leading down into the gorge.
In spring the waterfall is especially full of water and impressive in its power, while in summer it is pleasant to refresh oneself in the cool water or simply relax in the shade of the cliffs. Access to the natural pool at the base of the waterfall is open, but one should swim cautiously due to the strong current. Goderdzi Waterfall is frequently included on lists of Adjara's best natural attractions and recommended for day trips from Batumi.
