Kinchkha Waterfall is an impressive three-tiered cascading waterfall located in Imereti, in Khoni Municipality, in the picturesque Okatse River canyon. It is one of the highest and most powerful waterfalls in Georgia, attracting tourists with its grandeur and pristine natural beauty. The waterfall consists of three main cascades. The first, uppermost and tallest cascade, plummets from a limestone cliff about 70 meters high. The second cascade has a height of about 25 meters, and the third is about 35 meters. The total height of the water drop exceeds 100 meters, which makes Kinchkha a truly impressive sight. The waterfall is located at an altitude of about 843 meters above sea level surrounded by picturesque limestone rocks and relict forests.
Kinchkha Waterfall is located about 40 kilometers from Kutaisi, near Okatse Canyon. A tourist trail leads to viewing platforms offering stunning views of the waterfall itself and the surroundings. Convenient wooden walkways and stairs are installed here, making the walk comfortable even for families with children.
The best time to visit the waterfall is summer and early autumn. During this period, it is especially picturesque and accessible. It is worth keeping in mind that trails can be slippery during the off-season, so trekking preparation is necessary. Kinchkha Waterfall is not just an attraction, but a true adventure in the heart of Georgia’s wild and untouched nature.
