Tkhilnari waterfall

Tkhilnari Waterfall is one of the most scenic and atmospheric spots in the vicinity of Batumi, situated in the mountains of Adjara. The height of the waterfall reaches 25-30 meters, and a natural basin with crystal-clear and very cold water forms at its foot, where on hot days you can take a dip or simply refresh yourself. The site is surrounded by dense greenery, mountain slopes, and fresh air, making it ideal for outdoor leisure, picnics, and photo sessions.

You can reach the waterfall by car or minibus from Batumi; the journey takes about half an hour, but the final kilometers run along a narrow, winding mountain road, adding adventure to the trip. Along the route you will come across small cafes and restaurants where you can sample Georgian cuisine or even order fresh trout caught right on site and grilled over coals.

Tkhilnari is popular with locals and visitors: here one can not only marvel at the roaring cascade, but also have a picnic, go fishing, and for the daring, swim in glacial waters. Cozy pavilions and rest shelters line the river, with seasonal cafes offering live music and traditional fare. Hikers enjoy a fine opportunity to explore surrounding pathways, venture upstream, and uncover more scenic wonders, including an antique watermill and breathtaking vistas of mountain hamlets.
