A winery in a picturesque valley near Batumi, where you can get acquainted with the traditions of Georgian winemaking, taste unique wines and enjoy local cuisine among the vineyards.
Adjara Wine House is a unique place for connoisseurs of wine and Georgian traditions, located just 20 kilometers from Batumi, in a picturesque valley among green mountains and by the river. The winery is built on the foundations of a historic 18th century factory and is designed in the style of a French chateau: ancient traditions and modern technologies are harmoniously combined here. The complex includes vineyards, a winery, an enoteca, a wine cellar with qvevri (clay amphorae), tasting rooms and a restaurant of national cuisine, where you can try the best dishes of the region.
The main pride of the Adjara Wine House is wines from the autochthonous Chkhaveri variety, which is grown only in Western Georgia and was on the verge of extinction for a long time. Thanks to the efforts of the winery, the variety was revived, and today they produce exclusive wines under the Porto-Franco brand: dry, semi-sweet and aged in qvevri. These wines are distinguished by their tenderness, harmonious taste and are released in limited editions, so they are difficult to find on open sale - they can only be purchased on site, which makes a visit especially valuable for lovers of rare wines.
The winery also offers a wide selection of other wines: white, red, pink, dry, semi-sweet, aged in oak barrels and qvevri, as well as chacha, cognac and champagne. Guests can enjoy tours of the plant with a visit to the old and modern winemaking halls, tastings, master classes and gastronomic dinners. A special pleasure is a walk through the vineyards and learning about the history of the region and the process of wine production.
